Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez Collins is a Mexican American Sportcaster. She works as an ESPN anchor of news and hosts SportsNation sometimes. She started working at ESPN at the end of 2016. She is the daughter of the TV reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins is bi-lingual and has been for a long time, starting at her age of nine. This ability allowed her to land her first position at Univision, Miami. She was able to work with producers from across the country on programs such as Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. They hired her as reporter for an affiliate of the CBS St. Petersburg affiliate immediately following the interview. Her move into Rio Grande Valley in 2009 as a reporter for one of the Spanish channels KNVO TV 48 Univision, and Fox2 News. The stories she covered were about immigration and drug trafficking throughout Texas as well as Mexico. Her duties as an anchor for weather or sports were frequent requests. Later, she was the anchor and reporter on Univision Dallas' Deportes 23. The station then gave her higher responsibilities. She was a reporter for major events such as the Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series, the Dallas Cowboys and the NBA Postseason and the finals of FC Dallas FC Dallas Stars. She also hosted the local Univision 23 sports show Accion Deportiva Extra. In addition, she was the host for the morning show on Despierta America Deportes. The anchor also worked as an anchor on sports for Primer Impacto, a magazine program that airs on the UniMas Network and Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta Collins' family was originally from Veracruz Mexico. The family moved in Mexico City, where Antonietta Collins was born in November 1985. She is the older sibling of her parents. In 1992 the family left Mexico to the US and relocated to Miami. Her parents divorced soon after and her mother remarried an architect from the naval profession named Fabio Fajardo who died from kidney cancer in the year 2006. The couple remained in Canton Ohio with her older sister over the summer, where she had been offered a job. Antonietta was a senior high school student, but she had a very clear vision of what she wanted to do in her future career. She went to Mount Union University to determine if they suited her. It turned out that she was a fan of the university and it offered the degree that she had been looking for. After graduation, she enrolled at the University as a media studies major. Mark Bergmann was her professor and was also the director of WRMU where she is a part of. They had a very close connection. The passion he had for journalism as well as confidence in herself inspired her. She, in turn was determined to achieve his standards and not fail him.
